In 2005, Hayley Hunt became the new face of Scottish Widows.
After completing her studies, Hayley signed with the world-famous Storm
Agency
.
Since then, she's built her career primarily in television advertising campaigns, for many big brands and also starred in a music video. Hayley has also appeared in a number of glossy magazines and national newspapers included as well as fashion work for high street major retailers.
She also does in-house catwalk shows for design houses and she has taken part in charity work, including fashion shows to raise funds for breast cancer research and AIDS awareness. Hayley recently married childhood sweetheart, Judo Olympic hopeful James Lutman, in July.
What did she wear?
Hayley Hunt wore a dress which was designed for the occasion. It was created specifically for her by the costume designer for the advert. There were 2 identical dresses made which were wraparound in style.
The cloak
The cloak was made by a theatrical costumer and the pattern has not changed throughout the history of the Scottish Widow. There have been a number of cloaks made due to the wear and tear through the process of shooting the TV adverts. There are black cloaks with black lining, red lining and even one with blue lining.
The cloak is made of silk velvet and the lining is silk. Generally, the cloak weighs about 22lb and is weighted with dressmaker's weights to help the cloak to glide gracefully through the air as the Widow moves.
The Shoes
Hayley's shoes for the advert were Prada although she also needed a 'stunt' pair - these were customised by the costume designer to be very sturdy to cope with the Icelandic terrain.
Her jewellery
The Widow wears diamond stud earrings, a gold wedding band and a brooch
designed especially by jewellers Scottish
Hamilton & Inches
