They say that 70 is the new 50 because many people live—remaining fit, active and healthy—for years longer than their grandparents. Because of this, the need for a decent pension has never been greater.
According to a recent survey, less than half of us are saving enough for our retirement and nearly a quarter are saving nothing at all (Source Scottish Widows 2007 Pensions Index). Your retirement should be something to look forward to – a chance to take up new activities, spend more time with family or friends or travel the world – not a time to worry about how to make ends meet.
