We provide an online Decision in Principle service for you. On completion of the Decision in Principle questions, we’ll provide you with an instant decision, based on the outcome of a full credit search. We’ll tell you if your client can borrow the mortgage amount they require, and what the monthly mortgage payment will be.
You’ll have to log in to our online mortgage service to obtain an online Decision in Principle for your client. If you haven’t already registered for our online mortgage service, find out how to register.
Your Decisions in Principle can be saved online at any stage, allowing you to access them at a later date. And, as you’ve already provided a large proportion of your client data at this stage, it means if you proceed to full application you’ll be able to submit this more quickly.
Important information about a Decision in Principle
A Decision in Principle from Scottish Widows Bank only provides the probable outcome of a Full Application. It is not a formal offer and a Full Application may be rejected following a successful Decision in Principle.
Before you begin, please note the types of mortgage applications that can be submitted online are:
- Flexible Mortgage and Professional Mortgage applications
- New customer applications (i.e. not existing Scottish Widows Bank customers)
- Mortgages up to £500,000
- Mortgages where no guarantors are required.
If you’d like to submit a Decision in Principle that is not within the above categories, you can still:
- Apply by calling 0845 845 0110, option three, or
- Apply by post - by downloading our application forms.
