Opportunities in the market

Discretionary trust taxation

Today, any trust which is executed in lifetime with any element of flexibility is taxed under the relevant (discretionary) property regime. Our material guides you through discretionary trust taxation. We begin with order of planning, inheritance tax on creation, exit charges, periodic charges and reporting requirements . We also provide detailed information on completion of the IHT100 within our Trusts features and benefits.

Trustee Investments

Following Trustee Act 2000 and Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, most trustees will have the power to invest in any assets as they see fit. They do however, have an overriding duty of care to ensure they invest in accordance with the terms of the trust. We have a range of material to help in this area, including a guide, fact sheets and other articles.
