Our Financial Planning team is dedicated in providing impartial views on changes in the marketplace and analysing the opportunities that they bring. They write our financial planning articles, case studies and factsheets, the monthly techtalk magazine, and are ready with the latest Budget and legislative changes.

Sandra Hogg

  • Sandra Hogg Dip PFS, ATT, CTA
    Sandra has 17 years of hands-on experience dealing with HMRC and advising owner managed businesses as an accountant and tax adviser. She has, over the past 13 years, used and developed that experience within the group. She is Scottish Widows' expert spokesperson on tax issues.
Tony Escreet
  • Tony Escreet ACII, APFS, Chartered Financial Planner
    Tony has extensive experience in developing advice processes and a strong technical understanding of both group and individual pension matters. He was an independent financial adviser for a number of years prior to joining Scottish Widows, where he has worked mainly in technical advice-based roles. Tony is based in West Yorkshire.
Prem Chand
  • Prem Chand APFS, Chartered Financial Planner
  • Prem has been with the group for over 20 years. He has built up a wide range of knowledge of the industry as well as extensive technical knowledge. Prem specialises in pensions and has attained Chartered Financial Planner status.

Colin Clark
  • Colin Clark Dip PFS
  • Colin has broad, in-depth knowledge of pension rules and practice, built up over more than 25 years. His experience includes key roles in management, technical and regulatory risk, working for pension providers and at a national intermediary firm.

David Anderson
  • David Anderson Dip PFS
  • David joined the group in 2005. He has over 20 years industry experience which includes a regulated role as a pension transfer specialist along with a number of technical advice based roles covering life and pensions business.

Shirley Redpath
  • Shirley Redpath APFS, Chartered Financial Planner
  • Shirley has been with the group since February 1999. She has held a number of technical roles providing support, both internally and to financial advisers, across a wide range of life and pensions topics. She previously worked as a tied adviser.

Bernadette Lewid
  • Bernadette Lewis
  • Bernadette joined the group in 2006 and has over 30 years experience in the financial services sector working for both providers and intermediaries. Her earlier roles, including resolving technical complaints, provided her with a broad experience across both life and pensions. More recently, she's specialised in tax and trusts, while retaining an interest in the wider aspects of financial planning.
Jeremy Branton
  • Jeremy Branton ACII, APFS, STEP Cert (T&E), Chartered Insurer 
  • Jeremy has over 20 years experience working for life companies in technical and advisory roles. Having joined the group in 2006 he specialises in trust and estate planning guidance.

Chris Jones
  • Chris Jones STEP Cert (T&E)
  • Chris joined the group in 1996. He’s worked in a number of technical roles, specialising in life and investment products. He works on technical aspects of product development and how these fit into the financial planning process.

Tom Coughlan
  • Tom Coughlan 
  • Tom has spent over 10 years in technical roles. He currently specialises in trustee investment matters but has wide experience including the provision of technical support to independent financial advisers, approving investments for unit-linked funds and compliance auditing of discretionary investment managers.
