The Scottish Widow
An icon of our time
David Bailey was chosen to direct the launch of the Widow on television in 1986.
The original Widow chosen to portray the company’s brand values in the memorable ‘Looking Good’ commercial was Debbie Moore (daughter of Roger Moore).
In 1994, Amanda Lamb took over the role and has portrayed the Widow through a period of immense change in financial services.
The Scottish Widow
Hayley Hunt became the third Scottish Widow in 2005.
When she was 16, Hayley was spotted in the crowd by the Boss modelling agency at the BBC Clothes Show in Birmingham. “I remember the Clothes Show was pretty big at the time and I went up with my mum and her friends. I was approached by one of the scouts and he asked me if I’d like to do some modelling. I was very excited. I hadn’t even considered anything like modelling,” she recalls.
After completing her studies, Hayley signed with the world-famous Storm Agency, who handle Kate Moss, Eva Herzigova, Cindy Crawford and Lily Cole.
Since then, she’s built her career primarily in television advertising campaigns, for many big brands and also starred in a music video. Hayley has also appeared in a number of glossy magazines and national newspapers as well as fashion work for high street major retailers.
Hayley also does in-house catwalk shows for design houses and she has taken part in charity work, including fashion shows to raise funds for breast cancer research and AIDS awareness.
In 2010, Hayley was photographed as the Scottish Widow again, this time by award-winning photographer David Boni. The resulting collection of images offers a different, even more vibrant and energetic look to the Scottish Widow.
