John Penman
John Penman heads the communications team that combines the media and public affairs functions of Scottish Widows, Clerical Medical and GI. In addition to this John and his team look after communications in Scotland for Lloyds Banking Group.
John joined LBG in 2009 after more than 25 years working in the media. Latterly he was Business Editor for Sunday Times Scotland but has worked as Political Editor of The Scotsman, Editor in Chief of Business Insider, Assistant Editor of the Daily Record and was launch editor of Business AM.
Susan McDonald
Susan joined the Press Office in October 2001, and was promoted to head of Media Relations in 2008. Before working at Scottish Widows, Susan worked for an Edinburgh-based PR agency - with clients including RBS, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and the Loch Lomond Golf Tournament. Previously she was with Franklin Templeton Investment. Susan has a BA (Hons) in Marketing and Economics from Strathclyde University Business School. She works across all areas of the business as well as promoting industry links with other life and pension company press offices through the Association of British Insurers (ABI).

Zoe Redhead
Zoe joined the Scottish Widows press office in November 2008 and moved across to the Lloyds Banking Group Scotland press office in March 2010 to focus on PR for Bank of Scotland retail and Sponsorship. Prior to this point, she was Communications Analyst at Scottish Life International. Before SLI, she spent almost 6 years as a Press Officer with Bank of Scotland, where she managed PR for three corporate areas and dealt with day to day BoS personal finance enquiries.
